NPC Guide

NPC City Champ

All NPC’s require different quests and achievements or items or houses to acquire them. The first NPC is the only exception to this rule. His specialty is helping you build a house, mine ores, and defeat bosses. To get different NPC’s to move in you need a house which must have walls, background walls, a door, a table, 2 or more chairs, and a light source. The only exception is the truffle and the witch doctor.

The first NPC to move in is your guide. From here on they will arrive in  different order depending on what order you complete the achievements or goals. The first guy moves in basically when you have an available house and have created the world. He offers helpful advice similar to the information you get from reading these mini books.

Another person that will move in more than likely at the beginning is the merchant. He sells Piggy Banks, Safes, Anvils, Crafting Stations, Gold Dust, Mining Helmet, Basic Tools, and a few other starter items. The way he will move in is if you have an available house, and have accumulated 50  silver coins or more.

Another Person that moves in near the start of the game is the nurse. She will move in once you have increased your maxed health with a crystal heart or a life fruit. She is very useful for battles or if you have low health. She will charge you for however much health must be restored. For example I have all 20 golden hearts. When I have 0 health but am still alive it costs me 5 gold to fully restore.

The Clothier and Mechanic are both obtained from a dungeon. The clothier will move in once you have lifted his curse, defeated skeletron, and have an available house. He sells many different outfits and on certain nights sells rare and cool things. The mechanic is bound at first yet, once you have found her in the dungeon and talked to her she will sell wires, switches, levers, timers, actuators, and wrenches.

The Painter moves in once you have acquired 3 or more NPC’s and sells paint rollers, paints and a few other things. He is one NPC that will just move in once you have an availible house.

The Party girl will move in once you have an available house and have 7 other NPC’s and she has a 2% chance to spawn. She sells many items like the bubble blower, confetti, and confetti gun, as well as about 3-5 other items.

The Dye Trader Sells different dyes and the dye table. She moves in once you have found a teal mushroom or some other different dying object.

The demolitionist will move in once you have accumulated any sort of explosives like a bomb, grenade, or dynamite. He sells just that.

The arms dealer will move in once you have a gun like one of the ones obtained from shadow orbs. He sells different types of rare guns, gun parts, and ammunition. He is useful for the famous SDMG.

The Dryad will move in once you have defeated a boss such as the eye of Cthulu. She sells seeds, dirt rods and more.

The final NPC listed here is the witch doctor. He will move in once you have defeated the queen bee in the underground jungle. His house must have jungle grass in it or he will leave. He sells homeopathic remedial things.

For more NPC’s read NPC’s 2 once it’s released.
